Life Science Specialist

Life science specialists are domain experts that work closely with customers to help them get value from our software products and identify new use cases.

The ideal candidate is excited about the potential that technology and artificial intelligence has to reinvent workflows in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry. You have spent enough time in the industry to have experienced our customers’ pain points firsthand. You’re likely an early adopter of large language models (LLMs), and you’ve actively tried to incorporate them into your work. You’re a student of the biotechnology industry, and seek our opportunities to deepen your understanding; you have likely read several books on the history of pharmaceuticals and/or are a regular reader of industry blogs (e.g. Derek Lowe’s In The Pipeline).

You will:

• Play a key role in business development; source customers and develop technical and commercial scope for customers engagements
• Support service and consultative engagements as needed to allow customers to get value from the Convoke product suite
• Identify customer use cases that should be supported by Convoke; prioritize gaps between our current offerings and customer use cases and help shape the product roadmap
• Identify and map sources of proprietary data that could provide advantage to Convoke: conferences, literature, real-world evidence, etc.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in an life science investment, consulting, or business development/insights role at a biotech or pharmaceutical company
  
• MD or MS / PhD in a life sciences discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Excited to work in a startup environment, including turning over analysis and reports quickly in response to customer needs
• Willingness to travel to visit customers and to work on-site (up to 40%)

Nice to have:

• Previous experience at high growth startups
  
• Data science, computational biology, machine learning, or programming experience
